When asked to write about Charlie it came very easy for me. Because to describe Charlie is a lot like describing me! The store has been in business for over 3o years matching my age. I am the mother of five boys each under the age of eight, a wife and a business woman. I refer to Charlie as my 7th boy (5 boys, a husband and Charlie). Charlie for me is more than a store. It is love, a passion, and a lot of hard work. But again it stands for all that I stand for; hard work, fashion, love and loyalty

I started in the fashion business when I was only fourteen, and it is all I have ever known. My forte is women’s fashion, but when I bought Charlie four years ago, I felt a certain passion for the children’s business because of my boys. Often you hear that it is difficult to find clothing for boys, so I was on a mission to make certain that the boys in Arkansas, as well as my boys, were well dressed. My boys represent Charlie to a tee! All five dress alike and “to the nines.” At Charlie we offer a wide array of merchandise, everything from very fashion-forward funky attire, to the traditional smocking for children. Since I do not have a little girl of my own I live a fantasy through my store. Dressing little girls in high-end fashion is so much fun! My favorite style is very fashion-forward, but a little girl in a beautiful, traditional silk dupioni Christmas or Easter dress is also picture perfect.

At Charlie, we also have a real flare for children’s rooms from top to bottom. It is a great experience to make a mom and child’s dreams come true. Whatever a mom or a child could wish for, Charlie can achieve through fashion and room design.

Finally, the women’s business comes easy to me. Dressing young hip moms is where my experience lies and where I will continue to thrive. I hope to grow that business and take it to a different level, all while growing my children’s business too. We can take a little girl and dress her for generations and generations, straight through motherhood!

Charlie has been in business for 30 years for a reason…great and loyal customers. Most of our customers have been with us for generations and generations. As I grow Charlie, I want to keep those generations of customers very close to my heart while also moving Charlie forward. The Internet is a growing business today. I was skeptical to put my business on a website because Charlie stands apart from every other store, and because we are so customer oriented. We are a specialty store and at Charlie we take specialty to a different level. I will continue that very specialized business that Charlie is known for. I will continue to make our new Internet customers feel special, and will always be just an e-mail away.
