Creating pre-teen boys room decor can be difficult
for some, but not for Charlie Children's Boutique and
interior designer Amanda Williams. When the very
stylish decorator herself, Jamie Dejordy came to
Charlie with a vision for her son Keenan's room.
Amanda had her hands full. Keenan and mom were
both very specific on what they wanted. Something
not too little boy, not too big boy, cool, but still an
elegant touch of design. Amanda created a room
come true "Fashion meets funk" with a Harley
Davidson theme, a custom painted mural, and rich
royal fabric and deep colors.
To begin, Amanda put on her boots and headed to
the Harley Davidson motorcycle store to get some
authentic motorcycle parts. With a gas tank in tow,
a hubcap and a cylinder or two her next stop was the
fabric store. This is where she mixed some wonderful
rich fabrics of plaid and solid to make the perfect boy
bedding. Custom pillows with a fringe and a piece of
Oopsy Daisy art made the room really come together.

Summertime, sweet, sweet, summertime just like the
song goes!! Those were the elements that expectant
mom Susan Reynolds gave Charlie Children's Boutique
staff designer Amanda Williams for her soon to be
born daughter Mary Love. To be exact, the customer
ordered bright colors, fluff and a chandelier. And of
course, that's what she got. With lots of determination
and practice Amanda made this room a dream come
true. All mom, dad, and big sister Sophie had to do is
sit back, relax and watch Amanda's creations become
reality.
Amanda wanted a nursery that was traditional but
had Susan's own contemporary twist. They chose
all white furniture, white crib bedding and the walls
were painted a blush pink which made it all pop.
Amanda had a challenge with a built in twin bed. She
took that space and added a custom valance and
created a cozy lounging area for mom, baby and big
sis. The room also had built in shelving perfect all
the family keepsakes, pictures and gifts.
